Cookie Policy
Effective August 16, 2026. This policy describes cookies and browser storage used by Tech Seeker.
1. What these technologies are
Cookies are small values stored by a browser and sent with later requests. Local storage keeps values on your device without automatically sending them to a server. Similar technologies can remember a session, protect a request, or preserve a choice.
2. What Tech Seeker uses
- Authentication and security cookies: Better Auth session, OAuth state, and verification cookies keep you signed in, prevent request forgery, and complete Google authentication. They are necessary and may use a
better-authname or prefix. - Consent record:
tech-seeker-privacy-consent-v1records whether you enabled optional analytics and Mapbox and when you made the choice. - Analytics session: after analytics opt-in,
tech-seeker-analytics-session-v1stores a random identifier in session storage. It expires with the browser session and is not connected to your account identity. - Marketplace preferences:
app-storestores saved posting IDs, recent filters, and market/language preferences on your device. - Company posting drafts:
panel.job-posting-drafts.v1stores drafts requested by a company user on that device. - Local development only: a development-role value may be used on local developer environments and is not a production authentication mechanism.
3. Optional Mapbox service
Interactive maps are disabled by default. If you enable them, your browser connects to Mapbox to obtain styles, map tiles, and geographic data. Mapbox receives network and device information such as IP address, browser information, requested resources, and approximate location derived from the network. Tech Seeker stores your enable/disable choice locally.
4. Optional product analytics
Product analytics are disabled by default. If enabled, Tech Seeker records page visits, whether a search was used, filter counts, result loading, job reads, saves, map toggles, and internal or external apply actions. We do not send raw search text, account IDs, email addresses, CV data, advertising identifiers, or the destination URL. Events use an ephemeral browser-session identifier and are processed by Cloudflare. We do not deploy advertising pixels, cross-site behavioural advertising, or analytics cookies.
5. Duration and control
Authentication cookies expire according to their security purpose or when you sign out. Browser preferences and drafts remain until you clear them, the application replaces them, or you clear site data. The analytics session identifier expires when the browser session ends. The consent record remains until the policy version changes or you clear it. Use “Privacy choices” in the footer to enable or disable analytics or Mapbox. Disabling analytics removes its current session identifier and prevents new product events. You can also block or delete cookies and browser storage, but sign-in and saved features may stop working.
