Terms of Use
Effective August 16, 2026. These terms govern access to and use of Tech Seeker.
1. Who we are
In these terms, “Tech Seeker,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of the Tech Seeker service.
2. Accepting these terms
By accessing or using Tech Seeker, you agree to these terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you use Tech Seeker for an organization, you confirm that you can bind that organization. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
3. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 16 and legally able to work or recruit in the jurisdictions relevant to your use.
- You must provide accurate information, protect your credentials, and promptly tell us about unauthorized use.
- Candidate and company accounts have different permissions. You may not misrepresent your identity, role, employer, or authority.
- We may require verification and may suspend duplicate, fraudulent, compromised, or role-abusing accounts.
4. Marketplace role
Tech Seeker provides tools for discovering jobs, publishing postings, applying, and communicating. We are not an employer, recruiter, employment agency, or party to an employment agreement unless we expressly say otherwise. We do not guarantee interviews, offers, candidates, hires, eligibility, compensation, or the accuracy or continued availability of any posting.
5. External postings
Some jobs link to an employer or third-party website and are clearly attributed. Applications made there are governed by that website’s terms and privacy practices. A listing does not mean Tech Seeker endorses the employer or role, and listings may be updated or removed.
6. Candidate responsibilities
- Submit only truthful information that you are entitled to share.
- Do not include unnecessary sensitive information in a CV, application, or message.
- Understand that an application is shared with the company managing that posting and its authorized hiring personnel.
- Use hiring communications professionally and lawfully.
7. Company responsibilities
- Post genuine, lawful opportunities with accurate requirements, location, compensation, and company information.
- Use candidate information only to assess and communicate about legitimate employment opportunities.
- Maintain appropriate safeguards, access controls, retention practices, and all notices or consents required by employment and privacy law.
- Do not discriminate unlawfully, charge candidates prohibited fees, scrape candidate data, or reuse it for unrelated marketing.
8. Acceptable use
You may not interfere with the service; bypass access controls; introduce malicious code; scrape, harvest, or resell data; send spam; impersonate others; publish deceptive or illegal content; infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights; or use the service to facilitate discrimination, fraud, surveillance, or harm. Reasonable public search-engine indexing and use of links we provide are allowed.
9. Your content
You keep ownership of content you submit. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, copy, format, display, transmit, and otherwise process that content only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and provide Tech Seeker. You confirm that you have the rights needed to provide it. You can end this licence by deleting the content or account, subject to legal retention, backups, completed disclosures, and content that must remain to protect other users or the integrity of the marketplace.
10. Fees
Public-beta billing is currently disabled. If paid features are introduced, the price, taxes, billing period, cancellation rules, and any additional terms will be presented before purchase. Third-party payment processing may be provided by Stripe.
11. Intellectual property
Tech Seeker’s software, design, branding, and original content are owned by us or our licensors. Except for the limited right to use the service under these terms, no rights are transferred to you. Third-party names, logos, job content, and trademarks belong to their respective owners.
12. Moderation and termination
We may investigate, restrict, remove, or preserve content; limit features; or suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to enforce these terms, protect people or the service, comply with law, or address security and operational risk. You may stop using Tech Seeker at any time and request account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy.
13. Service and warranty disclaimer
To the extent permitted by law, Tech Seeker is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant uninterrupted operation, error-free data, specific employment outcomes, or that users and third parties will act as represented. Nothing in these terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost opportunities, lost profits, or loss of data arising from Tech Seeker or third-party conduct. Our aggregate liability for a claim will not exceed the greater of CAD $100 and the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.
15. Indemnity
If you use Tech Seeker on behalf of a business, that business will defend and indemnify us from third-party claims arising from its postings, hiring practices, submitted content, unlawful use, or violation of these terms, except to the extent caused by our own unlawful conduct.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by applicable Canadian law and the laws of the province in which Tech Seeker is headquartered, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in that province have jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer law gives you another right.
17. Changes
We may update these terms as the service or law changes. We will post the new effective date and provide additional notice when a change materially affects your rights. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised terms.
