Facilities Assessment Consultant - Architectural
About this role
Conduct facility condition assessments for architectural building systems across diverse asset types including airports, hospitals, schools, and government buildings. Use RSMeans data and proprietary software to deliver cost estimates and capital planning insights for clients in higher education, healthcare, and government sectors.
Must have
Associates or bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering, Architecture or Facility/Construction management
Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility assessment, inspection, operations, design, construction, or management
Knowledge of researching and applying relevant building codes and standards for existing buildings
Experience conducting quantity surveys and estimating replacement values using RS Means or other construction cost data sets
Experience evaluating facility conditions and conducting lifecycle analysis with corrective cost estimates
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Teams, Word, and Excel
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Physical ability to walk and inspect large complexes and climb ladders and stairs
Ability to travel 40% to 50% nationally and occasionally internationally

Responsibilities
Independently review client documentation including drawings, studies, and maintenance logs in preparation for and during inspections
Perform visual inspections of building systems to verify physical condition of foundations, structures, exterior envelope, and interior finishes
Collaborate with client facilities management staff to learn about operations, investments, and functional needs
Use computer tablets with mobile collection software to document system findings while on-site
Develop cost estimates for facilities replacement costs and corrective measures using data libraries and vendor research
Document findings within Gordian's asset management and capital planning software
Ensure individual quality assurance including completeness and accuracy of findings aligned with project scope
Support client inquiries by providing additional clarification and guidance on assessment findings
