About this role
Senior dispatcher role coordinating routes and drivers for WM's waste management operations across multiple lines of business. Communicates with drivers, customers, and internal teams to optimize routes and resolve service issues in real-time.
Must have
High school diploma or G.E.D required
Minimum 2 years previous dispatching experience required
Must live and work in Canada
Specialized training in transportation or logistics preferred
Call-center customer service experience preferred
Responsibilities
Optimize complex routes with routing specialists and route managers
Dispatch drivers to calls balancing cost and response speed
Field customer calls and manage pick-up and delivery requests
Initiate outbound calls to resolve on-site driver issues
Troubleshoot potential delivery and pick-up problems proactively
Document driver information and distribute to appropriate departments
Coordinate with maintenance shop as emergency contact
Serve as escalation point and train new dispatchers
Cover multiple lines of business and sites within an area
Delegate work and coordinate projects in manager's absence
