Principal Data&AI Architect
About this role
Lead strategic data and AI initiatives for enterprise clients as a trusted technical advisor at OpsGuru, a Carbon60 company. Drive cloud-native data platform modernization, AI/ML implementations, and data governance while providing thought leadership and people management across multiple accounts.
Must have
7+ years delivering professional services on major cloud providers with AWS as mandatory
Experience with at least three of large scale migrations, data platform modernization, lakehouse implementations, data governance, or AI/ML implementations
10+ years in a relevant information technology environment
Hands-on experience with Python for data analytics
Experience with relational database design, tuning and migration
Experience with enterprise data warehouses, data lakes, pipelines and ETL
Experience with stream and batch processing using Spark
Experience with data modeling for transactional and analytics workloads
Experience with BI dashboards and data visualizations
Experience with data quality gates, data lineage and data catalogue
Experience with machine learning and MLOps frameworks such as SageMaker
Experience with generative AI, agentic AI and foundational models
History of delivering presentations to CxO, VP and director level executives
History of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously
Technical pre-sales experience with strong SME guidance capabilities
Ability to model costs and explain total cost of ownership
History of holding budgets and modeling project costs with resourcing plans
Experience handling customer requests and escalations effectively
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities
Provide deep business and technical expertise across data analytics, AI and ML including data governance and compliance
Become trusted technical advisor for assigned strategic accounts
Guide and challenge clients respectfully to maximize technology investment value
Provide oversight to project teams ensuring technical outcomes align with business problems within budgets and timelines
Work with engagement managers to manage project scope and delivery quality
Discuss budget considerations and ROI with stakeholders
Participate in sales process in pre-sales capacity
Scope and provide SME support on statements of work alongside account executives
Contribute to internal and external evangelism through blog posts, whitepapers and case studies
Represent company at conferences and industry events as speaker or panelist
Act as people manager for team of architects and engineers approximately 10% of time
Conduct regular one-to-one meetings and professional development conversations
Escalate administrative and project issues and provide performance review recommendations
