About this role

Design GPU-native numerical methods for engineering simulation, focusing on solver algorithms, mixed precision, tensor-core computation, and multi-GPU systems. Bridge numerical analysis, accelerated computing, and AI-native computational engineering at NVIDIA.

Must have

PhD or equivalent experience in computational mechanics, applied mathematics, scientific computing, or related technical field

5+ years of relevant work or research experience

Research or engineering experience with PDE discretization, finite element, finite volume, or high-performance computing

Experience writing numerical software in C++ and Python

Experience developing or optimizing CUDA or GPU code

Experience using profiling, benchmarking, or performance analysis on GPU or multi-GPU systems

Ability to communicate technical tradeoffs and collaborate across research, engineering, and product teams

Responsibilities

Invent and reformulate numerical algorithms co-designed for modern NVIDIA GPU architectures

Develop linear and nonlinear solver approaches including Newton-Krylov methods, multigrid, and preconditioning strategies

Investigate when CPU-oriented numerical methods should be reformulated or replaced for GPU architectures

Evaluate algorithms on workloads in mechanics, CFD, electromagnetics, semiconductor simulation, and multiphysics

Collaborate with CUDA-X, Warp, solver engineering, NVIDIA Research, universities, and industry partners

Help shape the long-term applied research roadmap for GPU-native numerical methods and AI-native computational engineering
