About this role
Xsolla seeks a Senior Backend Engineer to design and build scalable, resilient backend systems powering gaming and commerce platforms. You'll work with Go, microservices, Kafka, and Kubernetes in a cloud-native environment. The role involves driving architectural decisions, optimizing performance, and owning production services in a collaborative, fast-paced setting.
Must have
5+ years of backend development experience in Go or similar language
Strong understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems
Experience with event-based communication and streaming platforms
Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker container orchestration
Solid understanding of observability, monitoring, and performance optimization
Ability to troubleshoot production issues and drive resolution

Design, build, and maintain backend services powering core products
Develop event-driven systems using Go and Kafka
Build scalable microservices in containerized environments
Drive architecture decisions for performance and resiliency
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and QA on end-to-end solutions
Own code in production, monitor, debug, and improve reliability
Write automated tests and follow CI/CD best practices
Participate in code reviews and technical knowledge sharing
Participate in on-call rotation for production incident response
