About this role
Lead customer migrations from self-managed GitLab to GitLab Dedicated using GitLab Geo for data replication. Design automation, validate infrastructure, and guide customers through cutover with minimal disruption while improving migration tooling and runbooks.
Must have
Experience delivering customer-facing migration or technical advisory engagements
Experience using, deploying, or configuring GitLab with solid Git and source control knowledge
Experience with infrastructure as code or configuration as code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Packer, Puppet, or Chef
Hands-on experience running Kubernetes workloads in production including deployments and debugging
Experience with a major cloud provider such as AWS, GCP, or Azure with network design knowledge
Ability to read, understand, and modify infrastructure tooling in Go, Python, or Ruby
Ability to independently lead multiple customer projects and communicate clearly in English
Solution-oriented approach with effective cross-functional collaboration skills

Responsibilities
Deliver customer migrations from initial assessment through planning, replication, cutover, and post-migration validation
Use GitLab Geo to replicate customer data, debug synchronization issues, and keep migrations on track
Design customer network connectivity within GitLab Dedicated constraints including VPCs and private connectivity
Apply infrastructure as code and configuration as code practices to validate existing environments
Advise customers on migration sequencing, cutover windows, integration requirements, risks, and next steps
Improve migration tooling, scripts, and runbooks to make delivery more reliable and efficient
Partner with Professional Services, Environment Automation, Product, and Engineering to resolve blockers
Manage multiple customer engagements while balancing outcomes, priorities, and sharing technical knowledge
