About this role
Join Instacart's Ads team to build world-class reporting solutions and scalable data systems processing petabyte-scale data. You'll work on ETL pipelines, distributed systems, and multi-platform reporting for advertisers and retailers across streaming and batch processing architectures.
Must have
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent proven industry experience (4+ years)
5+ years of experience in software engineering
Comprehensive understanding of distributed systems
Proven experience with data processing technologies such as DBT and Airflow
Experience with common web frameworks such as Rails
Highly proficient with SQL, capable of writing and reviewing complex queries
Ability to design for scale with the entire system in mind
Solid communicator comfortable seeking and receiving feedback
Strong analytical and debugging skills
Strong sense of ownership working with large codebase and diverse products
Collaborative mindset to partner with engineers, designers and PMs across teams
Strong organizational skills with ability to influence stakeholders at manager, director, and VP level

Responsibilities
Build world-class reporting solutions across various platforms for advertisers and retailers
Ensure timely, accurate, and actionable data insights for billing and strategic decision-making
Work closely with Product Designers, Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Machine Learning Engineers
Contribute to advancement of Ads suite and guarantee seamless flow of data to users
Process petabyte-scale data and deliver reports essential for partner management
Develop and maintain scalable and fault-tolerant metrics delivery systems
Contribute to vision, strategy and development of multi-platform reporting system
Advocate for data quality, correctness, scalability and latency standards
Spearhead new initiatives, code and document components, write and review system design documents
Partner with other teams to gather and understand customer requirements
Think and plan strategically for short and long term platform initiatives
