About this role
Samsara is hiring senior software engineers to build AI-powered products at the intersection of IoT, hardware, and physical operations. You'll own zero-to-one product development across full-stack systems processing 25+ trillion data points annually, with autonomy to shape technical strategy from day one.
Must have
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
8+ years of experience in software design and development including production systems at scale
Strong full-stack fundamentals across backend services APIs and frontend web or mobile
Proficiency in modern languages and frameworks such as Go Python TypeScript JavaScript React or similar
Demonstrated experience leading cross-team or cross-org projects from inception through rollout
Experience building AI-powered or data-driven products and turning AI capabilities into customer products
Strong communication skills and ability to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders
Track record of building zero-to-one products or solving hard problems that others left unsolved

Take ownership of technically complex mission-critical areas and run with them independently
Define and drive technical strategy for new products and platform capabilities from backend to UI
Design and ship full-stack features end to end across backend frontend and potentially mobile
Partner with product design and customer-facing teams to translate ambiguous problems into technical plans
Build and scale systems behind AI-driven products including data ingestion APIs and operator workflows
Raise the bar for engineers around you through code reviews design reviews and technical mentorship
Champion and embed Samsara's cultural principles as the company scales globally and across new offices
