About this role

Join Grafana Labs to work on Mimir, a high-scale distributed metrics database powering Grafana Cloud. You'll optimize query performance and reliability for a system handling massive telemetry volumes across AWS, GCP, and Azure. This staff-level role involves deep distributed systems work, on-call ownership, and open-source contribution in a fully remote, global team.

Must have

Solid experience with at least one programming language, preferably Go

Experience leading and delivering projects from requirements to shipping

Experience with cloud software development or systems engineering

Experience with on-call rotations and DevOps model

Comfort with microservices architecture and distributed systems

Familiarity with observability systems and debugging with metrics, logs, traces

Comfort developing with LLMs like Claude and Codex daily
