About this role
Lead a squad of three engineers building the developer surface for Xsolla's Shop Builder platform, including MCP server, CLI, SDK, documentation pipeline, and AI features. Hands-on role bridging architecture and execution, driving cross-team coordination and shipping production code.
Must have
6+ years professional software engineering experience
At least 2 years in tech lead, staff, or senior lead role
Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js
Experience shipping production APIs, CLIs, or SDKs to external developers
Hands-on experience building CLI tools and developer-facing workflows
Solid understanding of REST API design principles and SDK ergonomics
Practical familiarity with Model Context Protocol or agentic tool-use patterns
Experience coordinating across multiple engineering teams
Proven ability to lead engineers and raise quality bar through reviews
Cloud-native experience with CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, and AWS or GCP

Drive delivery of Shop Builder developer surface including MCP server, CLI, SDK, and documentation pipeline
Lead and mentor a team of three engineers with technical direction and code reviews
Own cross-team coordination for inbound API capabilities from payments, auth, live ops, and catalog teams
Actively contribute to implementation and ship production code on critical components
Partner with Principal Engineer to translate architecture into sprint-level execution plans
Collaborate with PO on roadmap sequencing, scope decisions, and trade-offs
Own team's delivery rhythm including sprint planning, grooming, retrospectives, and status visibility
Define and maintain engineering standards for testing, observability, deployment, and documentation
Act as primary technical contact for headless partner integrations and MIT professional services team
Contribute to hiring through technical interviews and defining hiring standards
