About this role
Dutch Vet is seeking an SDET to own test infrastructure and quality strategy across their veterinary telemedicine applications. You'll design Playwright-based test frameworks, drive testability standards with developers, and build automation across the full testing pyramid.
Must have
5+ years in software engineering or SDET role with strong programming fundamentals
Hands-on experience building test frameworks from scratch
TypeScript or JavaScript proficiency for writing framework code
Experience designing CI/CD test pipelines
Understanding of testing pyramid and pushing tests to appropriate layer
Experience partnering with developers on testability standards
Familiarity with API testing, network-layer assertions, and mocking third-party integrations
Experience with mobile test automation is a plus
Familiarity with monitoring, availability testing, or SRE practices is a plus

Responsibilities
Design and maintain Playwright-based test framework architecture with page object patterns and test data management
Drive testability contract with developers including data-testid standards and API test hooks
Own testing strategy across the pyramid ensuring right tests at right layer
Build and maintain tiered CI pipelines for smoke, regression, and full suite testing
Automate revenue-critical and marketing-critical flows including checkout and registration
Write production monitoring tests verifying system and vendor availability
Identify, triage, and track bugs with clear reproduction steps and root cause analysis
Partner with engineering, product, and customer support to review requirements and provide testability feedback
