About this role

Smile Digital Health is seeking an Intermediate Software Developer to build and maintain their FHIR-based healthcare data platform used in 20+ countries. You'll work across the full SDLC designing, implementing and testing components using Java, Spring, and web technologies in a fully remote role.

Must have

5+ years of full-cycle software development lifecycle experience

Post-secondary education in computer science or equivalent work experience

Hands-on experience with Java and the Spring framework

Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs

Experience with relational databases using SQL

Experience using Git for version control

Solid understanding of CI pipelines and Docker containerization

Experience with middleware products and transaction processing

Knowledge of healthcare, HL7 or FHIR is an asset

Full-stack experience with Angular and JavaScript is nice to have

Responsibilities

Support design, development, and implementation of diverse applications using web technologies

Create and maintain detailed technical product and end user support documentation

Evaluate requirements and propose high level design and technical solutions

Analyze solutions for interoperability, performance, and maintainability

Write high-quality and well-documented code adhering to team standards

Evaluate and provide accurate estimated timelines for development requirements

Participate in and perform code reviews for quality and defect identification

Investigate and resolve complex technical challenges for assigned projects

Maintain in-depth knowledge of technologies used in new and existing modules

Advise and provide feedback on quality technical design and industry trends

Support colleagues on complex projects and escalated challenges

Participate in setting and maintaining software development best practices
