About this role

Lead data scientist role driving growth analytics at Shakepay, a Canadian bitcoin financial services company. You'll work cross-functionally to identify growth opportunities, build experimentation frameworks, and influence product decisions through statistical analysis and machine learning.

Must have

8+ years experience in data science, growth analytics, or experimentation roles

Strong mastery of SQL and Python

Deep understanding of experimentation, causal inference, statistical analysis, and forecasting

Strong product and business intuition with ability to link user behavior to business outcomes

Experience working cross-functionally with marketing, finance, operations, or product teams

Comfortable operating autonomously and leading ambiguous projects from idea to execution

Strong communication skills and ability to influence decisions through data and clear reasoning

Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver multiple projects with high attention to detail

Solid understanding of dashboard and data visualization tools

Responsibilities

Work closely with engineers and designers on product teams to improve acquisition, activation, retention, monetization, and customer experience

Collaborate with marketing, finance, and operations teams to discover growth opportunities and make better business decisions

Support and promote experimentation and decision frameworks to launch products and iterate quickly with confidence

Define KPIs and success metrics that help teams stay aligned on measurable outcomes

Use statistical analysis, forecasting, causal inference, and machine learning techniques to understand user behavior and business performance

Proactively identify high-impact opportunities through deep analysis of user journeys, lifecycle behavior, conversion funnels, and financial performance

Contribute to shaping team and company priorities by bringing data-driven perspectives on impact, trade-offs, and ROI

Create dashboards, models, and self-serve tools that improve visibility of growth and business performance across the organization

Collaborate with the broader data team to maintain a shared and consistent data layer serving stakeholders and internal agents

Foster a culture of experimentation, curiosity, and evidence-based decision making across Shakepay
