About this role
Lead front-end engineering for credit union public websites, building reusable CMS-driven components and translating design systems into production code. Own the component architecture connecting UX vision to CMS platforms while mentoring developers and ensuring accessibility, performance, and SEO excellence.
Must have
10+ years in modern front-end development
Strong React and TypeScript experience
Next.js experience highly desirable
Experience building enterprise-scale responsive websites
Experience integrating with CMS platforms via REST or GraphQL
Strong component architecture and design-system experience
Excellent HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals
Strong accessibility expertise
Understanding of SEO, performance optimization, and analytics
Experience with enterprise security and regulated environments
Financial-services experience preferred
Experience with AEM, Sitecore, Kentico, Drupal, Sanity, dotCMS, Umbraco, or similar

Responsibilities
Lead front-end engineering for new public websites for credit unions
Build reusable, CMS-driven components and page templates
Work closely with UX to translate design system into component library
Integrate front-end components with CMS APIs and structured content
Develop responsive experiences across desktop, tablet and mobile
Ensure WCAG accessibility compliance
Optimize Core Web Vitals, page performance, SEO and rendering
Implement analytics, tagging and consent-management requirements
Integrate front-end journeys with digital banking and account-opening platforms
Establish front-end architecture, coding standards and development practices
Support headless or composable architectures where selected
Conduct code reviews and mentor other developers
Work with QA on automated and manual testing
Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD and environment management
Support migration testing, launch, and stabilization
Create reusable AEQ components and accelerators for future migrations
Recruitment process
Owns implementation quality of member-facing web experience for credit union
Works closely with UX Lead and CMS Technical Lead
Senior, hands-on engineer who leads technically while building production code
Experience with Central1 Forge Digital Banking Experience preferred
Compensation is 80 to 100 dollars per hour depending on skill set
