6+ years experience conducting UX research within a product organization
Deep expertise with qualitative methods including interviews and contextual inquiry
Ability to conduct quantitative research end-to-end including surveys and benchmarking
Master's or PhD in HCI, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, or related field
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
Experience with experimental design and statistical analysis
Lead qualitative and quantitative UX research studies for product teams
Proactively identify and define strategic research projects with stakeholder buy-in
Communicate research findings and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders
Act as trusted thought partner for product managers, designers, and data scientists
Inform planning and strategy through synthesis of user and organizational knowledge
Evolve best practices and drive improvement of team processes
Mentor junior researchers and guide contractor work
Document and communicate research publicly with the Wikimedia community
Reports to UX Research team manager with cross-organizational stakeholder collaboration
Requires availability for synchronous work between 15:00 to 19:00 UTC
Expected travel up to four times per year
Focus on 'Increase our Reach' area including Beyond Wiki audience and AI chatbot contexts
Work includes foundational and evaluative studies on emerging platforms and formats
