About this role

Lead data scientist role driving growth analytics at Shakepay, a Canadian bitcoin financial services company. You'll work cross-functionally to identify growth opportunities, build experimentation frameworks, and influence product decisions through statistical analysis and machine learning.

Must have

5+ years experience in data science, growth analytics, or experimentation roles

Strong proficiency in SQL and Python

Deep understanding of experimentation, causal inference, and statistical analysis

Strong product and business intuition linking user behavior to outcomes

Cross-functional experience with marketing, finance, operations, or product teams

Comfort operating autonomously and driving ambiguous projects end-to-end

Strong communication skills to influence decisions through data

Proven ability to manage multiple projects with high attention to detail

Curiosity and bias for action in fast-paced environments

Solid understanding of dashboard and data visualization tools

Responsibilities

Work closely with engineers and designers to improve acquisition, activation, retention, and monetization

Collaborate with marketing, finance, and operations to discover growth opportunities

Support and promote experimentation frameworks for confident product launches

Define KPIs and success metrics to keep teams aligned on measurable outcomes

Apply statistical analysis, forecasting, causal inference, and machine learning techniques

Proactively identify high-impact opportunities through deep user journey analysis

Shape team and company priorities with data-driven perspectives on impact and ROI

Build self-serve dashboards, models, and tools to improve growth visibility

Collaborate with the broader data team to maintain a shared, consistent data layer

Foster a culture of experimentation and evidence-based decision making
