About this role
Design cloud security systems, guardrails, and automation that protect billions in customer assets while enabling engineering velocity at a fintech company. Build invisible infrastructure supports across AWS with zero trust, least privilege, and resilience principles.
Must have
5+ years experience in cloud security, networking, or information security
Familiarity with security frameworks and privacy regulations such as NIST CSF, FFIEC, SOX, SOC2, GLBA, ISO27018, PCI-DSS
Understanding of accepted security practices, troubleshooting issues, and attack vectors
Experience with infrastructure as code tooling
AWS certifications are encouraged
Strong desire to learn and grow with proven track record

Build and define cloud security posture and enable cyber resilience
Support zero trust initiatives across the organization
Work with infrastructure and engineering teams to improve cloud reliability and security
Automate cloud security controls to minimize threats, vulnerabilities, and risk
Shape AWS cloud architecture around resilience, least privilege, and maintainability
Address remote access challenges in a remote-first environment
Collaborate with teams across Mercury to solve security, privacy, and compliance challenges
