About this role

Lead a team of 8 engineers owning Postscript's messaging backbone including Flow Builder, SMS campaign engine, and platform infrastructure. Drive reliability and cost efficiency for high-volume distributed systems while expanding into new channels. Manage internal platform as a product with operational rigor and on-call ownership.

Must have

4+ years of engineering leadership experience managing senior ICs and managers

Experience leading teams owning high-volume distributed systems like messaging or payments

Experience running an internal platform that other engineering teams depend on

Demonstrated excellence in recruiting and onboarding engineers

Early-stage or high-growth SaaS experience

Experience with high observability systems including SLOs and monitoring

Comfortable supporting frontend engineering on product surfaces like Flow Builder

Exposure to AI technologies is a plus

Responsibilities

Lead team of 8 engineers owning messaging backbone including Flow Builder and campaign send engine

Drive reliability throughput and cost efficiency of high-volume production messaging system

Manage Messaging Platform as internal product with contracts and prioritization for consumer teams

Own dedicated on-call rotation including incident response and blameless postmortems

Collaborate with platform AI and integrations teams plus product managers and compliance partners

Carry out performance management via feedback 1:1s annual reviews and development opportunities

Provide ongoing technical mentorship and professional development for direct reports

Establish and improve development on-call and incident-review processes for operational rigor

Partner with Staff Engineers to develop technical roadmaps for platform scale and velocity

Recruit hire and advocate for new positions while participating in candidate screening
