Mercury is seeking a Senior Product Designer to join their Cards & Credit team, focused on transforming complex financial systems into simple, intuitive experiences for startups. The role emphasizes design craft, first-principles thinking, and close collaboration with Product and Engineering partners.
Must have
Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional product thinking, interaction design, and visual craft
Ability to understand complicated systems and turn them into simple, thoughtful product experiences
Deep curiosity about why problems exist before deciding how to solve them

Responsibilities
Own meaningful Cards & Credit product problems from initial framing through shipped experience
Partner closely with Product and Engineering to understand problems and shape what to build
Turn complicated systems, requirements, and edge cases into simple, intuitive experiences
Work across the entire design stack from problem framing to final implementation
Explore broadly and design from first principles, questioning inherited patterns and assumptions
Bring high level of interaction and visual craft to the Cards & Credit experience
Collaborate with Brand team on physical cards and related products for cohesive experience
Develop deep understanding of customers and work through tradeoffs with partners
