About this role
Mercury seeks a Senior Product Designer to join their Cards & Credit team, crafting simple and intuitive experiences from complex financial systems. You'll own product problems end-to-end, working across interaction design, visual design, and prototyping to help startups spend less time banking and more time building.
Must have
Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional product thinking, interaction design, and visual craft
Ability to understand complicated systems and turn them into simple, thoughtful product experiences
Deep curiosity about why problems exist before deciding how to solve them

Own meaningful Cards & Credit product problems from initial framing through shipped experience
Partner closely with Product and Engineering to understand problems and shape what to build
Turn complicated systems, requirements, and edge cases into simple, intuitive experiences
Work across entire design stack from problem framing to final implementation
Explore broadly and design from first principles, questioning inherited patterns
Bring high level of interaction and visual craft to Cards & Credit experience
Collaborate with Brand team on physical cards and related products
Develop deep understanding of customers and work through tradeoffs with partners
