About this role

Own Roo's frontend platform including design systems, shared UI architecture, developer tooling, and AI-assisted workflows. Build infrastructure that empowers engineers, designers, and AI agents to ship polished, consistent product experiences across web and mobile.

Must have

Significant experience building production software with focus on frontend systems

Strong full-stack engineering fundamentals with deep expertise in React and TypeScript

React Native or mobile experience

Experience working closely with designers and modern design systems

Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools like Cursor or Claude

Experience connecting design systems to prototyping tools or AI coding environments

Ability to own technical roadmap and get work prioritized without PM support

Responsibilities

Own long-term technical direction of Roo's frontend platform across web and mobile

Partner with Product and Design to evolve design system as foundational platform

Make design system effortless to consume by engineers, designers, and AI agents

Lead platform initiatives like framework upgrades, React Native modernization, and Expo adoption

Own migration of legacy components to v2 design system with tooling and documentation

Establish patterns for quickly shipping new pages and flows from component library

Improve developer experience through shared tooling, automation, and workflows

Identify and systematically eliminate friction points that slow builders down
