About this role

Lead Affirm's shared mobile app infrastructure team, owning design systems, networking, observability, CI/CD, and developer tooling for React Native platforms. Set technical strategy and build tools that empower feature teams across the organization.

Must have

7+ years developing and architecting mobile applications

4+ years using React Native

Proficiency with JavaScript and TypeScript

Hands-on experience with React Native and Expo

Experience authoring or migrating native modules and components

Experience with complex state management in React apps

Experience performing React Native SDK major updates

Ability to debug across the JS to native boundary under New Architecture

Experience with mobile testing and observability tooling

Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code

Proven track record driving team execution on large projects

Experience delivering major features or deprecating existing functionality

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience

Responsibilities

Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long time scale

Collaborate across teams in the product development lifecycle

Act as a force-multiplier through technical solutions and operational processes

Ensure monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, and alerting support on-call efforts

Foster culture of quality and ownership through code review and design standards

Develop talent on the team by providing feedback and leading by example

Build tooling that other mobile feature teams adopt

Maintain app availability and stability as core infrastructure owners
