About this role

Build and maintain Tailscale's native Windows desktop client using WinUI, Windows App SDK, C#, XAML, and Go. Contribute to cross-platform client code while implementing Windows-specific features and platform integrations.

Must have

Four or more years of experience in software development

Strong understanding of Windows platform capabilities and limitations

Proficiency in C# and modern native UI frameworks like WinUI, UWP, or WPF

Experience with general networking concepts including DNS, VPNs, IP networking, and routing

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to give and process constructive feedback and work independently

Flexibility to adjust to the dynamic nature of a startup

Responsibilities

Develop the native Windows desktop client using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML, and Go

Implement support for latest Windows platform features while maintaining backward compatibility

Develop and optimize product features on Windows with focus on UI components and platform integration

Develop and maintain unit and integration tests using Microsoft Testing Platform v2 and xUnit

Contribute to common cross-platform Tailscale client code supporting macOS and mobile platforms
