Director, Product Line Management – Waveserver PLM Team
About this role
Lead product strategy, roadmap execution, and lifecycle management for Ciena's Waveserver optical transport portfolio. Drive cross-functional alignment and translate market requirements into differentiated high-capacity networking products.
Must have
Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications, networking, or equivalent experience
10+ years of relevant industry experience with 5+ years in product line management
Deep knowledge of coherent optical systems, DWDM, OTN, Ethernet services, and optical transport architectures
Experience leading new product introductions and growing product revenue in competitive markets
Proven ability to align cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders
Experience with pricing, forecasting, margin management, and competitive analysis
Strong executive communication skills with willingness to travel occasionally

Responsibilities
Define and drive Waveserver product strategy, roadmap direction, and investment priorities
Translate customer, sales, and market requirements into product requirements and release priorities
Lead cross-functional alignment across engineering, marketing, supply chain, services, and sales
Drive customer engagements, roadmap discussions, RFP/RFQ responses, and product trials
Develop business cases for features, releases, pricing strategies, and cost optimization
Manage product line performance through revenue planning, forecasting, and margin improvement
Monitor market developments across optical networking, DCI, hyperscale networking, and automation
