About this role

Lead Tailscale's dataplane platform, the critical layer carrying traffic for 7M+ devices. Define roadmap for WireGuard, DERP relays, subnet routers, exit nodes, and App Connectors. Drive performance SLOs, reliability, and connectivity across complex enterprise networks.

Must have

10+ years in product management owning networking, transport, edge, or infrastructure products at scale

Deep networking fluency across the stack from L4 routing to application layer proxies and DNS

Demonstrated ability to define performance commitments and customer-facing SLOs

Experience with CDNs, edge platforms, SD-WAN, overlay networks, cloud networking, or service mesh

Responsibilities

Set vision and roadmap for Tailscale dataplane including WireGuard, DERP, subnet routers, and exit nodes

Define performance and reliability as customer-facing product requirements

Own connectivity product strategy end to end including regional expansion and capacity planning

Drive roadmap for operational primitives like subnet routers, exit nodes, and Peer Relays

Own application-layer connectivity surface including App Connectors, Services, DNS, and network segmentation

Own operator control surface for network engineers and IT admins across admin console and CLI

Partner with embedded Network Features design lead on product surfaces

Own connectivity behavior across full matrix of NAT types, OSes, mobile carriers, and enterprise firewalls

Partner with GTM, Customer Success, and Solutions Engineering on enterprise deals

Represent Tailscale's dataplane externally as credible domain authority
