About this role

Lead Ciena's IP Routing portfolio evolution by identifying innovation opportunities and helping Service Provider customers modernize their networks. Combine deep IP expertise with portfolio strategy, customer engagement, and cross-functional influence across technical, commercial, and executive stakeholders.

Must have

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field; advanced degree preferred

10+ years of experience in Product Management, technical strategy, network architecture, or transformation leadership

Proven track record contributing to or leading large Service Provider network transformation projects

Deep expertise in IP routing protocols including OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, MPLS, Segment Routing, and VXLAN

Experience with Service Provider architectures across core, metro, access, edge, cloud, and DCI environments

Strong communication and strategic thinking skills for executive-level engagement

Responsibilities

Identify and evaluate innovative IP solution opportunities that drive differentiation and growth

Collaborate with Account teams to engage lead customers and identify transformation opportunities

Own definition of Service Provider network transformation programs with actionable project plans

Partner with broader PLM organization to align innovation requirements with routing portfolio roadmap

Translate market needs and AI-enabled operating models into detailed product requirements

Provide thought leadership on AI, automation, and advanced routing technologies for network capabilities

Track competitive developments in Service Provider transformation and AI-based networking

Produce high-quality content including roadmap narratives, whitepapers, and customer presentations
